My new single is scheduled for release at midnight UK time on Friday 20th September. There will be much more info about the song nearer the release date, meanwhile here’s a glimpse of the artwork.

This song will be my 25th release. As usual I composed all the music and lyrics, played all the instruments and sang all the vocals. The production and mixing was, as ever, brilliantly executed by Jermaine Nelson-Williams.

I can’t wait for you to hear it.

Update

Facebook have removed my post about the release of my new single because it breeches their community standards. I assume it’s because the image is a noose but in typical Facebook style they don’t tell you exactly what the problem is just that there is a problem.

I’ve challenged their arbitrary decision but I can only do so by answering their limited questions, not by explaining that the image is based around the lyrics of the song. The image of the noose is crucial to the content contained within the song. It was not chosen lightly and isn’t a reference to self harm. But I can’t explain that to Facebook because, as usual, they will make decisions based on seemingly nothing more than a whim of some bot. It’s a shame they don’t apply such rigorous standards to the flood of racism, misogyny and vitriol that are all over their platform. It’s also strange that Facebook also own Instagram and the image is OK on Instagram.

I’m not some 15 year old choosing random images without thought, I’m a mature adult promoting my art. My music is wrapped up in a limited company which reports accounts to HMRC. I take this very seriously and I work damned hard on it. Once again Facebook has acted first without contacting me for my explanation. For a communications company they really are shockingly poor.
