Facebook are at it again, this time they’ve decided to take my account down. No reason why, no questions asked, they’ve just removed it. Just like that.

If they had crashed into my life with jackboots and brown shirts they couldn’t have acted more like the Nazi party.

Facebook is the company that allows bigots, misogynists and racists to post freely – all in the name of free speech – but then suddenly, on a whim, decides that someone using Facebook to promote their music should be taken down, banned and silenced.

They have allowed me to appeal. They’ve requested a copy of my passport or driving licence !!!!

Quite why either document is an appeal is beyond me. Of course you can’t speak to anyone at Facebook, there’s no email address that is manned and their decision is final. So 5,000 followers just disappear into thin air whilst Facebook make their minds up.

Facebook insisted that I upload a self photo so I uploaded exactly the same one as was already on my Facebook page. They also insisted that I supply proof of who I am so I uploaded a copy of my driving licence. I resent having to do either of these for an account I have held for years and I actively post on most days.

I resent them actually taken the page down rather than contacting me to supply the info they clearly think is vital to the long term security of Facebook and all it’s users. Quite why Facebook operates like a division of the Nazi party is beyond me. Frankly if I didn’t have to use Facebook I wouldn’t and I feel the same about all the major social media channels. They demand the right to be unregulated and yet they act as if it is their god-given right to demand what they like of the users of their platforms. At the same time they will spread whatever evil they like so long as they are making ad revenue off the back of it.
