There’s something special about hearing a song performed by the person who wrote it. You get the words, the melody and the personality behind it, all in the same room. At Songwriter Evening, that’s what we come together to celebrate: original music and the talented people who create it.

Our next gathering is Saturday 31st October at Ysceifiog Village Hall, starting at 7pm, and we’d love you to join us. Yes, it’s Halloween, so costumes are entirely optional. Come as a vampire, a witch or someone who’s simply remembered where they left their car keys. You’ll be equally welcome.

A Huge Thank You to Our Performers

To everyone who has performed at our previous evenings: thank you. Sharing something you’ve written takes courage, and we’re grateful to every performer who has stepped up and let us into their musical world.

Your songs, stories and individual styles have made each evening different. Most of all, you’ve shown just how much original talent there is to enjoy when people have somewhere welcoming to share it.

Thank you, too, to everyone who has come along to listen, applaud and support the performers. An attentive audience makes a tremendous difference. You don’t need to write songs or play an instrument to be an essential part of Songwriter Evening; bringing your ears and a willingness to discover something new is more than enough.

Never Been? Come and Give It a Try

Songwriter Evening brings people together around original songs performed by their writers. It’s a chance to hear music you might never otherwise discover, enjoy a relaxed evening and support the people making it.

You might hear something moving, something funny or a chorus that follows you home. That element of discovery is part of the pleasure: every songwriter brings something of their own.

If you’ve been meaning to come along, make Halloween the evening you finally do. Bring a friend, introduce someone to original live music and help us give our performers a room full of encouragement. All money raised is donated to Ysceifiog Village Hall, so you’ll also be supporting the place that brings us together.
