My latest vinyl purchase from eBay, A Tonic For The Troops by The Boomtown Rats.
Back in 1977 a fresh face band from Dublin led by a scruffy, gobby lead singer burst into our lives. The Boomtown Rats had arrived. This was their second album, released in 1978 and showcases their superb ability to craft catchy, thoughtful, fun pop songs and deliver them with real panache.
These days Bob Geldof comes with the baggage of a lifetime but back then he and his band were quite simply superb.
