I nicked the song title from something Keith Richards said about Brian Jones’ contribution to the Stones album Let It Bleed. Jones was in freefall from his excesses and was contributing less and less to the Stones and then just before he was fired from the band he made significant contributions to tracks like Midnight Rambler. I think the imagery the quote creates is superb and can be applied to all sorts of situations which I hope I’ve managed to capture in my song.
