John Martyn is an artist I’ve enjoyed for years, he’s quite unlike any other musician having carved out his own unique sound. To me his songs have always sounded like waves, they flow over you and gradually suck you in until you become a fan.

I watched a documentary about John some long while ago and it felt sad to see someone with the amount of talent he clearly had struggle with his life so much. John died in 2009 and the world was robbed of a unique talent, hopefully he’s at peace now. The legacy he’s left behind benefits us all.
