Here’s a short promotional article that keeps the tone personal, slightly self-deprecating, and focused on driving Spotify plays and follows.
If you’ve ever listened to one of my songs and thought, “I wonder what else he’s done?”, I have now made that question considerably easier to answer.
I’ve put together a Spotify playlist called Sean Kearns Songs, which contains all the songs I’ve released so far in one place.
You can listen here:

It is, effectively, my musical history to date — the good ideas, the questionable ideas, the songs I’m particularly proud of, the songs that took far too long to finish, and everything in between.
For an independent musician, every single listen matters.
Spotify famously pays artists very little per stream, so I’m not expecting to buy a villa in the South of France any time soon. But the value of a play isn’t just the fraction of a penny that eventually arrives somewhere down the line.
A play means somebody chose to listen.
A second play means they might even have liked it.
And a follow means somebody is interested enough to want to hear what comes next.
That matters enormously.
Like most independent musicians, I make music because I enjoy making it. But recording songs takes time, effort, patience and money, and knowing that somebody somewhere is actually listening provides a surprisingly large amount of encouragement to keep going.
So if you have ever enjoyed one of my songs, please consider doing two very simple things.
First, have a listen to the Sean Kearns Songs playlist. You don’t have to sit through the entire thing in one heroic session — although obviously I wouldn’t object.
Second, please follow my Spotify artist page:

Following costs nothing, takes a few seconds and helps enormously. It also means Spotify has a better chance of letting you know when I release something new.
There are millions of songs competing for attention on Spotify, many backed by record companies, marketing budgets and teams of people whose entire job is to persuade you to listen.
I have none of those things.
I have some songs, a Spotify page and the occasional shameless request like this one.
So please listen, follow, save the playlist and, if you hear something you particularly like, share it with somebody else.
Every play helps.
Every follower helps.
And, perhaps most importantly, every one of them gives me another reason to keep making music.
