I really enjoy finding great new music. Well, new music to me. The rest of the world may have been listening to it for months or years for all I know.

This is Ellur. A reel she had posted on Instagram popped up on my feed and 30 seconds later I was clicking on her website and buying her vinyl album. She was singing an acoustic version of her song God Help Me Now and the opening lines totally captured me:

I think too much
I’m all out of fucks
The world’s on fire
I’m just getting drunk

Anyone who can write lyrics like that has my vote. Her album At Home In My Mind has arrived and I’m delighted to say it’s exceptional. The fact it’s also coloured vinyl and has a scented sleeve is also pretty cool but it’s the music that does it.
