If you care about original music — whether you write it or simply love listening to it — this is worth putting in your diary.
Songwriter Evening returns on Saturday 9th May, bringing another night focused entirely on one thing:
songs, written and performed by the people on stage.
So — before anything else — make a diary date now.
Not your typical open mic
There are plenty of open mic nights around. Most of them blend into the background — a mix of covers, conversations, and distractions.
This isn’t that.
Songwriter Evening is built differently.
Every performer plays original material only.
And just as importantly, the audience is there to listen.
No talking over performers.
No background noise.
No half-attention.
Just a room focused on the music.
For the audience: come and discover something new
If you enjoy finding new music before anyone else, this is where it happens.
You’ll hear songs at their earliest stage — honest, unfiltered, and performed live by the people who wrote them. No algorithms, no playlists deciding what you hear next.
Just turn up, take your seat before 7:30pm, and let the evening unfold.
👉 Make a diary date for Saturday 9th May — you won’t hear this anywhere else.
For songwriters: this is your space
If you write your own songs, this is a rare opportunity.
A chance to perform in front of an audience that’s actually listening. A space where your work isn’t background noise — it’s the reason people are there.
The format is open mic, but with a clear focus: original songs only — no covers.
Each performer will have time to share at least two songs, with the possibility of more if time allows.
So if you’ve got songs ready — or even songs you want to test — make a commitment and come along on the 9th May.
