The first song I released was My Guardian Angel and it will always be special for so many reasons. It generates a massive emotional response for me personally but it was also the song that made me want to write, record and release my music, so I’ll be forever grateful to that song and the person it was dedicated to.

My Guardian Angel was released in January 2021 so it’s taken three and a half years and 23 songs to reach one million streams on Spotify. Each song is special to me and they all have memories and resonance.

I can still remember the thrill of seeing My Guardian Angel and subsequent releases generating their first handful of streams. I suspect that every musician, every songwriter wants their music to be heard by as many people as possible, preferably the whole world. I’ve set myself different, little targets as I’ve continued to release music. First it was a thousand streams, then ten thousand and so on. I’ve invested in a professional looking website and worked just about every day on my social media channels promoting my music to an ever growing number of followers.

Currently my biggest song it simple terms of the most streams is in fact my latest release Draw The Line which accounts for around 14% of all my streams to date.

I remember vividly when I first came up with the basic riff that repeats throughout the song and thinking that this was different and exciting.

But in all honesty each song is special to me personally otherwise I wouldn’t release it. It sounds slightly crass but it’s true, they’re like my little children and I’m proud of each of them.

In the end it’s up to the listener to decide which is their favourite. I’m delighted if people like any of my songs enough to listen to them.
